Week 20-update

History: The focus of this week was understanding The split of the Davidic Kingdom. We also focused on the prophets Elisha & Elijah.

The reading was almost all Bible this week. The kids read a big chunk of 1 Kings and 2 Kings this week. We also covered an overview of Obadiah and Joel.

Literature: Annsley finished up Adara (actually she finished it last week, but that was her assignment for this week.) The rest was Bible reading

Writing: We are working on writing from an outline and the kids wrote summaries about the split of the Davidic kingdom. We added two sentences openers (subject and prepostitional openers).

Dictation: Our dictation was selections from Proverbs.

Timeline: We made a fairly detailed timeline of the prophets and kings of Israel and Judah during this time.

Fine Arts: We made an altar of rocks. We talked about how alters help us to remember what God has done for us. We painted the rocks with things we are thankful for. We also made a book with an illustration of what God did verses what Baal did when they were put up against each other.
