Memory

Every week the kids draw a poem out of our past memory work to polish and perform for me. I decided to use my new Flip Camera to record them. They were happy to both have chosen short poems this week! :-)

History: This week we went into the Reformation and Erasmus.

Dictation: We used quotes by Martin Luter for dictation this week
Notebook Pages: We did a mini-book on Ersasmus and looked up pictures of the Northern Renaissance.

Week 14

Back to school after a wonderful vacation and snow-filled Christmas!! Oh, it is hard to get back into the grove, especially when you are a ten year old boy!!

History: This week we looked at the Aztec and Inca civilizations, focusing on the Spanish conquest and Cortes.

Fine Art: We did Chapter 3 in the Art for Kids book. We also looked at more Renaissance paintings, specifically Venetian art.






Dictation: For dictation I pulled an excerpt from the World Book about the Aztec civilization.

Writing: We are going to be writing a research paper over the next few weeks. This week we chose our topics. Annsley and Seth will be doing the Aztecs.

Geography: This week we did a map of Central and South America during the time of the Aztec and Inca Empires.
Timeline: This week we added Pizarro and Cortes to the timeline.
